Over more than the past two decades, I have led efforts to design intuitive and engaging user experiences into software utilized by various government programs. In addition, I have championed and refined methods to integrate user interface, user experience, and instructional design knowledge into software development processes. My Doctoral research suggests that this type of multi-functional collaboration leads to dramatic improvements in the usability of software products and their accompanying learning aids. Ultimately, these integrations result in software that quickly empowers end-users to take on complicated tasks more quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., the MHS, addressing people, processes, and systems.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specific roles and responsibilities included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Analyzing evaluating the training efforts of the Military Health System (MHS) that relate to medical coding and revenue capture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Led training team efforts to develop a training solution package to improve medical coding and revenue capture in the MHS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Led Data Analytics team efforts to utilize Cerner data analytics to understand potential medical coding and revenue generation performance indicators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Led a cross-functional team that analyzed the growing problem of open encounters within the MHS GENESIS electronic health record and proposed a solution for closing invalid open encounters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Led teams writing scientific and technical information (STI) papers related to our open encounters, training, and data analytics Management System Modernization (DHMSM)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>7\/2017 \u2013 9\/2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Planned, wrote, designed, and developed online interactive training for the Joint Longitudinal Viewer (JLV), mandated for all providers transitioning to the MHS GENESIS electronic health record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Collaborated with JLV developers, clinical SMEs, and project managers to design and refine UI features that make the application more intuitive for end-user health care providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Planned, wrote, designed, and developed all deployment communications materials for JLV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Served as the deployment training point of contact for Cerner Advance and Lights On Network data analytics tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Led deployment training knowledge management efforts, and was the technical point of contact for team SharePoint, milSuite, DoD 365, and the Joint Knowledge Online learning management system.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A little back story about my employment from 2003&nbsp; to 2017<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In September of 2003 I started working as a consultant for a company named Skarven Enterprises, Inc. The company produced software for the intelligence community and I was brought in to add some polish to their UI work. In 2005, I was hired on full time and in 2008 Skarven was purchased by Boeing along with it&#8217;s sister company, Kestrel.
